I like bamboo. There's a lot to like about it, frankly. It's pretty (when kept under control), and it's probably the most environmentally friendly wood product out there.
But photographing it isn't easy. I took this shot when we were visiting our friends Natalie and Bernardo in Nashville. We stopped to visit a botanical garden on the former estate of the founder of Folger's coffee, and there was a Japanese garden on the premises.

I like it as well. I think the yellow is a real key to the shot.
ReplyDeleteAs for the scale of the shot, that's been a tough lesson to learn. There's a tendency to want to take the shot you see, but increasingly, I'm learning that the best shots often require zooming in beyond that.
I'm gonna have to take a mulligan here since I served as the crappy guide at Cheekwood. The coffee associated with the place was not Folgers after all but rather Maxwell House.
