Horses near Asheville, NC

This weekend, Stephanie and I went to beautiful Asheville, NC for a few fun days of rafting, riding, and running.

This picture was taken about half a mile from our rental cabin. Ideally, it would be standard dimensions. Unfortunately, I failed to notice a telephone wire running through shot. As a result, I had to crop the photo to eliminate that unsightly line.

Hey Nate! I dig the photography blog. I may have to link this one to my blog also. Definitely update this one alot! I've looked through your albums on your homepage and you manage to get some good shots. Keep 'em coming.

Thanks, Aaron. I really enjoy digital photography, but admittedly, I don't know what I'm doing. I think I'm getting better, but I don't know. REI is offering a digital photography class next one day month, and I'm thinking about taking it. But maybe all I'll learn is how bad I am- kind of like entering a race. Sometimes all I get out of it is affirmation that I'm not very fast!!!

Funny story on this particular picture, by the way. When we drove by it last weekend, I knew I wanted to get a shot. I love horses, I love old wooden barns, and I love the yellow flowers in pastureland this time of year.

So, I took three shots of this horsefarm, and this one was my favorite. Unfortunately, the painted horse was a little too... how do I say... anatomically accurate. As a result, I had to photoshop our stallion such that he is now a mare. :-)
