Land of the Clouds

Copyright Nathan Montgomery, 2008

For my final mountain photograph from the Himalayas, I'll post this shot taken in Tingriti. Like the picture I posted yesterday, this one has grown on me since I got home. It's a fairly simple shot taken at sunrise.

I read the first three chapters last night. It seems that Tibetans are the only people on Earth who have figured out how to survive in that range. For 1000 miles from Tibet to Pakistan, basically everyone in the heart of the Himalayas has Tibetan heritage. Because of that, there are certain similarities to the Lahualis I met (irrigation ditches,e tc.), but of course, there are important differences as well- religion, diet, etc.

As for any warps, hard to say. I've basically been sick since July 15, and I've probably spent more time thinking about that then thinking about big picture issues of adjusting back.
